Broward County is home to over 90,000 veterans and has the fastest growing veterans population in the state. To better support their employment needs as they return home, Governor Rick Scott on Jan. 24, 2012, led business, military, veteran and workforce leaders in launching the "Hiring Florida’s Heroes" campaign to connect businesses in need of high-quality talent with these dedicated, well-trained men and women. Hiring Florida’s Heroes aims to advance the No. 1 goal of Florida’s workforce system – placing Floridians in jobs – by enhancing its efforts to work with employers to match them with veterans possessing the skills they need. In doing so, our state retains a critical, high-quality talent pool and the heroes who have served us so nobly can put their talents to work for Florida’s businesses, their communities and their families.
